Liquidambar styraciflua is a beautiful big bush with multiple branches that looks most attractive in every big garden as a solitary plant.
The branches have conspicuous corky fissures, which are particularly visible in winter. In addition to this, the Liquidambar has spectacular autumn colours, with leaves varying from yellow to dark purple. It emanates a delightfully sweet scent, particularly in autumn.
The Liquidambar can be trimmed, but please remember that this plant needs plenty of space. It should preferably not be planted in an unsheltered area, as the branches are highly sensitive to strong gusts of wind in summer.
